Jue
The name Jue stemmed from his understanding in life. Jerrick being the name given to him at birth he added a U.E to it making it JUE, an acronym (Jerrick, Understands, Everything) He strives to understand everything that goes on in life, young and old, everyday struggles and hardship. JUE defines him.
At age 10 his mother bought him a toy keyboard. During bible studies held in his home for the neighborhood, he was exposed to “church” music and where he would begin to play his keyboard. His lack of knowledge with music invigorated his desire to learn how to play even more. He taught himself by listening to other piano players and practicing daily, sun up to sun down. Inspired musically by Michael Jackson, Sam Cooke, Al Green, Marvin Gay, Zapp and Roger, Whitney Houston, Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Akon and many more talented artists. Ultimately Michael Jackson was the world’s best performer to him, giving him hope, because despite Jackson’s obstacles, he still made hit songs and was a musical genius. “I love how he rock the shows for all people,” says Jue while grinning.
October 2011 changed his musical life forever. Jue opened up for Jill Scott on the Wind Creek Casino stage at BayFest, the true beginning of something big. Jue shortly after, met radio personality NinaRawz, where she recruited him to Rawz Entertainment Music Management and became his manager. Jue is currently working with Jay Trill Studios on more inspirational hits for his upcoming EP. Outside of the studio, you will either catch him in the Bell Air Mall Playing for Mall-goers, or being a family man. Jue knows that with the help of God, he can become the best inspirational songwriter and artist ever. “Thank You God through you I am able to sing, write, play and perform the way I do.”
